During our study of John 3:1-5 we examined the benefits of the New Birth. We discovered that when one is born again you are given new perspective. As a child of God we have access to the Kingdom of God. As one who bears the Holy Spirit we are given revelation and understanding of what He, the Holy Spirit, is doing and where He is moving. Spirit-bearers are able to determine wherever the Spirit is and wherever He leads.

It is Father’s desire to pour out His Spirit on all, Joel 2:28-29. The revelation of His Kingdom will be received by His sons and daughters who will prophecy, have dreams and visions. Through prophecy, dreams and visions the Holy Spirit reveals what He is doing. What He desires to do and what He will do, if we listen and obey His word. Prophecy awakens God’s people to the larger purpose He has of reaching the world around us through all who would be available to the work of His Spirit. The Kingdom Dynamics on page 1168 of The Spirit-Filled Life Bible says of prophecy. The greater work is salvation to all who call upon His name. Joel 2:32.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit followed by signs and wonders is a sign to unbelievers of God’s presence, His message, and power. God desires that all should be saved, John 3:16-17. When we are born again we receive a new spirit. As Spirit-bearers we carry His presence, give his message of redemption and must demonstrate His power. The Holy Spirit always reveals Jesus, our redeemer. We too are filled with the Holy Spirit so that we reveal Jesus. (Is. 28:11) The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of grace and supplication who leads the lost and weary soul to Jesus. (Zech. 12:10) Jesus choose you and has appointed you to carry His Spirit, enabling you to bear fruit that remains. (John 15:16)

A Spirit-bearing person will share their faith and teach others about the goodness of God. In Acts 1:8, Jesus gave the disciples the promise that He was sending the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit would come and give power to be witnesses. When Holy Spirit comes He shakes things up so much that it impacts all around. Peter was transformed from a scared fisherman to a power, punching preacher. Peter had the power and presence of God filling him with the message of reconciliation that saved three-thousand people on that day.

The good news is that not only the disciples in the Bible are capable of experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit, but He is pouring out His Spirit on those hungry for Him today.  Do you want Him? Are you hungry? You are a Spirit-bearer, one who the Holy Spirit wants to give prophetic messages, dreams and visions. All we have to do is position ourselves in an attitude of surrender so that the Spirit of grace can fill us.

Prayer: We are hungry Father. Holy Spirit we desire to be filled by you. Show us your way. Give us your power. Allow us to partner with you to see the world changed and transformed by  your Spirit of grace. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Thank you for giving us the Holy Spirit, for equipping your sons and daughters to hear and obey your word. Amen!
